Before it was possible for precompiled binaries of the Cython layer to
be downloaded during a test run if the metadata of the host machine's
gRPC Python project matched the metadata of a file in cloud storage. Now
we disallow this, and fix a bug where the relevant environment variable
was ineffectual.

This extends the existing http parser to support requests as well as responses.
httpcli continues to exist and work as it has previously, though in the new
directory src/core/http (to reflect the fact the directory now contains code
relevant to parsing requests, which httpcli would not generally involve itself
in).

Python 3: fix a bytes/str runtime issue

On python3, in grpc._links.service._Kernel._on_service_acceptance_event,
there is a runtime TypeError:
```
_on_service_acceptance_event
group, method = service_acceptance.method.split('/')[1:3]
TypeError: 'str' does not support the buffer interface
```
It is fixed by using a bytes literal (`b'/'`) instead of a string literal.
This exposed another issue in grpc.beta._server where an exception was being
raised with a bytes literal for a message (a string should be used instead.)

Make grpc-python ByteBuffer.bytes() linear cost.
...
Currently ByteBuffer.bytes() reads from the underlying grpc byte_buffer
a slice at a time, and appends each to a Python string (bytes). In
Python strings are immutable, so appending creates a new string by
copying the previous data. This means the current implementation is
quadratic.
The effect is very noticeable when messages have repeated (or large)
string fields. We traced execution between two services and observed
that when the payload size approached 600kb, the receiving service took
~10s at full CPU to read a response that had taken fractions of a second
the send over the network.
This commit changes ByteBuffer.bytes() to use an intermediate bytearray,
instead of strings, for the in-progress bytes. Once all slices are
read, the buffer is converted to a string.

Since the default behavior is quite sane, support just calling ssl_channel_credentials() without explicitly specifying ssl_channel_credentials(None, None, None).
This changes the pattern ssl_channel_credentials(server_crt, None, None) to ssl_channel_credentials(server_crt)

Make insecure_channel / secure_channel accept port=None and only use the
'host' argument. This enables using UNIX sockets without mangling the
path of the socket.

Apparently Python can call arbitrarily deallocation code whenever its
allocator is invoked, which can cause output from gRPC core to stderr,
which can happen on the thread that is emptying the stderr pipe, thus
causing the stderr pipe to deadlock on itself.

Fix two ways tests can hang
...
Both have to do with the test runner's handling of the tests. With one
it's the read thread somehow outliving the other threads (e.g. with
ctrl-C). The other is due to a filled OS-level pipe's buffer causing a
block while code is still holding the GIL in some gRPC core function. We
can't empty the buffer from Python because the GIL is held, and the OS
can't unblock because it's waiting for the buffer to get cleared:
deadlock.

We suffered a bug whereby doing a follow-up write to another write could
resurrect a deleted stream, causing all sorts of crash.
Fix: when a stream becomes writable (vs when we start writing) take a
ref on the stream, and only relinquish it once we're done writing.

Decouple filter selection from channel construction

Allow plugins to extend the set of filters used by gRPC core:
- plugins at construction time can register against the 'channel_init' system to be allowed to mutate a new channel_stack_builder type
- channel_stack_builder provides a central and rather dynamic place to construct the list of filters required by a channel stack
- ultimately we construct the channel stack in the fashion we always have
This is also a prerequisite step to allowing filters to be implemented from wrapped languages.

The custom gRPC bdist command depends on numerous undocumented and
private behaviors of setuptools, wheel, distutils, etc. One such is the
ordering of generated distribution targets. We paper over this under the
assumption that the command will only be useful for gRPC devs, and
document with a command description a contractual obligation of users of
the command.

functools.wrap is only warranted to work with functions and methods but
logging_pool is warranted to work with callable behaviors, so using
functools.wrap has been wrong all along.
The particular incompatibility motivating this correction is that
callable objects do not have a "__name__" attribute.

For a termination action to properly mark an _End as having stopped it
must clear the _End's _cycle attribute. To be able to do that the
termination action must hold a reference to the _End instance.
Migrating the _termination_action behavior that creates termination

the needed instance reference.

Servers and stubs were context managers in the Alpha API; they may not
need to be in the Beta API but it's easy enough to do, eases migration,
and probably helps some use cases.
For now the stub is given empty __enter__ and __exit__ methods; we can
always come back and implement the actual work of context management in
a later change.

Fixes for bugs found during manual use

(1) In _ingestion, it's the "details" attribute of a
NoSuchMethodException that we want. The "message" is inherited from the
base Exception class.
(2) In _transmission, use a proper sum type for representing operation
abortion. Trying to overload the existing _completion value for
status-and-details-when-aborting was trying to be too clever.
(3) In _calls... oof. Just look. Oof. Test coverage for this code path
is added.
(4) In _service, the application-provided
face.MultiMethodImplementation isn't directly callable, but rather
exposes a method named "service".
(5) In crust.implementations, the wrapping that we've put around the
application-provided face.MultiMethodImplementation *is* directly
callable, and *does not* expose a method named "service".
(6) Also in crust.implementations, base.NoSuchMethodError's constructor
takes a code value and a details value.
(7) Again in crust.implementations, the application-provided

(1) Plumb the metadata transformer given at the Beta API through to the
InvocationLink where it will be used.
(2) In both InvocationLink and ServiceLink, if there isn't a registered
serializer or deserializer, just pass the payload through rather than

(1) Call "cancel" on each future, not on the list of futures.
(2) If and when futures mature their actions should simply abort all
outstanding operations and cancel any other futures. They should not
shut down the _End's internal thread pool; only the termination action
of the last operation to terminate should shut down the pool (in the
case of their having been active operations at the time at which the
_End's stop(grace) method was called).

Four small bugfixes
...
(1) In grpc._links.service._Kernel.add_ticket, premetadata() the call
if it has not already been premetadataed for any non-None ticket
termination, not just links.Ticket.Termination.COMPLETION.
(2) In grpc.framework.core._reception, add an entry to
_REMOTE_TICKET_TERMINATION_TO_LOCAL_OUTCOME for REMOTE_FAILURE.
REMOTE_FAILURE on a received ticket indicates the remote side of the
operation blaming the local side for operation abortion.
(3) In grpc.framework.core._reception.ReceptionManager._abort, only
abort the operation's other managers if the operation has not already
terminated, as indicated by the "outcome" attribute of the
TerminationManager.
(4) In grpc.framework.core._reception.ReceptionManager._abort, don't
transmit the outcome to the other side of the operation. Either it came
from the other side in the first place and to send it back would be
telling the other side something it already knows, or it arose from a
network failure and there's no confidence that it would reach the other
side.

Clean up Python C API use in src/python/src/grpc/_adapter/*.c. Specifically:
...
- Use METH_O and METH_NOARGS where appropriate, modifying the C functions
appropriately. METH_O is for functions that take a single PyObject, and
it's passed directly instead of 'args'. METH_NOARGS is for functions
that take no arguments, and they get called with just one argument
('self'.)
- In PyArg_ParseTuple*() calls, specify the callable's name for more
descriptive exception messages.
- For tp_init functions (which always take keyword arguments) introduce
keyword argument parsing (using the C local variables as keywords,
although I don't know if they're the best names to use.) This is mostly
as a way to show how keyword arguments are done in C. An alternative
method is to use _PyArg_NoKeywords(kwds) (see
https://hg.python.org/cpython/file/70a55b2dee71/Python/getargs.c#l1820 ,
but unfortunately it's not part of the official API,) or check manually
that the dict is empty.
- Check the return value of Python API functions that can return an error
indicator (NULL or -1.) PyFloat_AsDouble is also one of these, but we
don't check the return type (we would have to compare the result to 1.0
with ==, which is not a thing you should do) so just call PyErr_Occurred
unconditionally.
- Change Py_BuildValue() calls with just "O" formats into PyTuple_Pack
calls. It requires less runtime checking.
- Replace Py_BuildValue()/PyObject_CallObject pairs with
PyObject_CallFunctionObjArgs (since all of them have just PyObject*
arguments.) If the Py_BuildValue formats had included other types,
PyObject_CallFunction() would have been easier, but no need in these
cases.
- Replace Py_BuildValue("f", ...) with PyFloat_FromDouble(...). Less
runtime checking and parsing necessary, and more obvious in what it does.
- In the PyType structs, replace "PyObject_HEAD_INIT(NULL) 0" with
"PyVarObject_HEAD_INIT(NULL, 0)". Anything with an ob_size struct member
is a PyVarObject, although the distinction isn't all that import; it's
just a more convenient macro.
- Assign tp_new in the PyType structs directly, like all other struct
members, rather than right before the PyType_Ready() call.
- Remove PyErr_SetString() calls in places that already have a (meaningful)
exception set.
- Add a PyErr_Format() for an error return that wasn't setting an exception
(PyObject_TypeCheck() doesn't set an exception.)
- Remove NULL assignments to struct members in the error paths of the
tp_init functions. PyObject structs are always zeroed after allocation,
guaranteed. (If there's a way for them to already contain an object
you'd use Py_CLEAR() to clear them, but that can't happen in these
cases.)
- Remove a few unnecessary parentheses.

Refactoring of the Python build.

The source code is moved from src/python to
src/python/src. A setup.py is added at
src/python. The build_python.sh and
run_python.sh scripts are updated to build
and run the Python tests by building a
package and installing it in the developer's
Python 2.7 virtual environment.
