MSFT ActiveSync implementation requires that the size of the response for
incoming query is to be provided in the request input length. Failure to
set the input size proper results in failed request transfer, where the
ActiveSync counterpart reports the NDIS_STATUS_INVALID_LENGTH (0xC0010014L)
error.
Set the input size for OID_GEN_PHYSICAL_MEDIUM query to the expected size
of the response in order for the ActiveSync to properly respond to the
request.

commit cb82a54904a99df9e8f9e9d282046055dae5a730 upstream.
This USB-C Hub (17ef:721e) based on the Realtek RTL8153B chip used to
use the cdc_ether driver. However, using this driver, with the system
suspended the device constantly sends pause-frames as soon as the
receive buffer fills up. This causes issues with other devices, where
some Ethernet switches stop forwarding packets altogether.
Using the Realtek driver (r8152) fixes this issue. Pause frames are no
longer sent while the host system is suspended.

Aligning to tx_ndp_modulus is not sufficient because the next align
call can be cdc_ncm_align_tail, which can add up to ctx->tx_modulus +
ctx->tx_remainder - 1 bytes. This used to lead to occasional crashes
on a Huawei 909s-120 LTE module as follows:
- the condition marked /* if there is a remaining skb [...] */ is true
so the swaps happen
- skb_out is set from ctx->tx_curr_skb
- skb_out->len is exactly 0x3f52
- ctx->tx_curr_size is 0x4000 and delayed_ndp_size is 0xac
(note that the sum of skb_out->len and delayed_ndp_size is 0x3ffe)
- the for loop over n is executed once
- the cdc_ncm_align_tail call marked /* align beginning of next frame */
increases skb_out->len to 0x3f56 (the sum is now 0x4002)
- the condition marked /* check if we had enough room left [...] */ is
false so we break out of the loop
- the condition marked /* If requested, put NDP at end of frame. */ is
true so the NDP is written into skb_out
- now skb_out->len is 0x4002, so padding_count is minus two interpreted
as an unsigned number, which is used as the length argument to memset,
leading to a crash with various symptoms but usually including
> Call Trace:
> <IRQ>
> cdc_ncm_fill_tx_frame+0x83a/0x970 [cdc_ncm]
> cdc_mbim_tx_fixup+0x1d9/0x240 [cdc_mbim]
> usbnet_start_xmit+0x5d/0x720 [usbnet]
The cdc_ncm_align_tail call first aligns on a ctx->tx_modulus
boundary (adding at most ctx->tx_modulus-1 bytes), then adds
ctx->tx_remainder bytes. Alternatively, the next alignment call can
occur in cdc_ncm_ndp16 or cdc_ncm_ndp32, in which case at most
ctx->tx_ndp_modulus-1 bytes are added.
A similar problem has occurred before, and the code is nontrivial to
reason about, so add a guard before the crashing call. By that time it
is too late to prevent any memory corruption (we'll have written past
the end of the buffer already) but we can at least try to get a warning
written into an on-disk log by avoiding the hard crash caused by padding
past the buffer with a huge number of zeros.

Starting with iOS 14 released in September 2020, connectivity using the
personal hotspot USB tethering function of iOS devices is broken.
Communication between the host and the device (for example ICMP traffic
or DNS resolution using the DNS service running in the device itself)
works fine, but communication to endpoints further away doesn't work.
Investigation on the matter shows that no UDP and ICMP traffic from the
tethered host is reaching the Internet at all. For TCP traffic there are
exchanges between tethered host and server but packets are modified in
transit leading to impossible communication.
After some trials Matti Vuorela discovered that reducing the URB buffer
size by two bytes restored the previous behavior. While a better
solution might exist to fix the issue, since the protocol is not
publicly documented and considering the small size of the fix, let's do
that.

When get_registers() fails in set_ethernet_addr(),the uninitialized
value of node_id gets copied over as the address.
So, check the return value of get_registers().
If get_registers() executed successfully (i.e., it returns
sizeof(node_id)), copy over the MAC address using ether_addr_copy()
(instead of using memcpy()).
Else, if get_registers() failed instead, a randomly generated MAC
address is set as the MAC address instead.

Some WinCE devices face connectivity issues via the NDIS interface. They
fail to register, resulting in -110 timeout errors and failures during the
probe procedure.
In this kind of WinCE devices, the Windows-side ndis driver needs quite
more time to be loaded and configured, so that the linux rndis host queries
to them fail to be responded correctly on time.
More specifically, when INIT is called on the WinCE side - no other
requests can be served by the Client and this results in a failed QUERY
afterwards.
The increase of the waiting time on the side of the linux rndis host in
the command-response loop leaves the INIT process to complete and respond
to a QUERY, which comes afterwards. The WinCE devices with this special
"feature" in their ndis driver are satisfied by this fix.

Note that the returned bulk pipes and interrupt endpoint descriptor
were never actually used. Instead the bulk-endpoint numbers are
hardcoded to 1 and 2 (matching the specification), while the interrupt-
endpoint descriptor was assumed to be the third descriptor created by
USB core.
Try to bring some order to this by dropping the bogus lookup helper and

0x0050: ffff ffff ffff ffff ffff ffff ffff ffff
0x0060: ffff 961f
Those last two bytes - 96 1f - aren't part of the original packet.
In the ax88179 RX path, the usbnet rx_fixup function trims a 2-byte
'alignment pseudo header' from the start of the packet, and sets the
length from a per-packet field populated by hardware. It looks like that
length field *includes* the 2-byte header; the current driver assumes
that it's excluded.
This change trims the 2-byte alignment header after we've set the packet
length, so the resulting packet length is correct. While we're moving
the comment around, this also fixes the spelling of 'pseudo'.
