Jan Beulich 76fac2a852 xen-netback: respect gnttab_map_refs()'s return value
commit 2991397d23ec597405b116d96de3813420bdcbc3 upstream.

Commit 3194a1746e8a ("xen-netback: don't "handle" error by BUG()")
dropped respective a BUG_ON() without noticing that with this the
variable's value wouldn't be consumed anymore. With gnttab_set_map_op()
setting all status fields to a non-zero value, in case of an error no
slot should have a status of GNTST_okay (zero).

This is part of XSA-367.

Hans de Goede 94cdbc7147 brcmfmac: Add DMI nvram filename quirk for Voyo winpad A15 tablet
[ Upstream commit a338c874d3d9d2463f031e89ae14942929b93db6 ]

The Voyo winpad A15 tablet contains quite generic names in the sys_vendor
and product_name DMI strings, without this patch brcmfmac will try to load:
rcmfmac4330-sdio.To be filled by O.E.M.-To be filled by O.E.M..txt
as nvram file which is a bit too generic.

Add a DMI quirk so that a unique and clearly identifiable nvram file name
is used on the Voyo winpad A15 tablet.

While preparing a matching linux-firmware update I noticed that the nvram
is identical to the nvram used on the Prowise-PT301 tablet, so the new DMI
quirk entry simply points to the already existing Prowise-PT301 nvram file.

Miaoqing Pan 8863fca543 ath10k: fix wmi mgmt tx queue full due to race condition
[ Upstream commit b55379e343a3472c35f4a1245906db5158cab453 ]

Failed to transmit wmi management frames:

[84977.840894] ath10k_snoc a000000.wifi: wmi mgmt tx queue is full
[84977.840913] ath10k_snoc a000000.wifi: failed to transmit packet, dropping: -28
[84977.840924] ath10k_snoc a000000.wifi: failed to submit frame: -28
[84977.840932] ath10k_snoc a000000.wifi: failed to transmit frame: -28

This issue is caused by race condition between skb_dequeue and
__skb_queue_tail. The queue of ‘wmi_mgmt_tx_queue’ is protected by a
different lock: ar->data_lock vs list->lock, the result is no protection.
So when ath10k_mgmt_over_wmi_tx_work() and ath10k_mac_tx_wmi_mgmt()
running concurrently on different CPUs, there appear to be a rare corner
cases when the queue length is 1,

  CPUx (skb_deuque)			CPUy (__skb_queue_tail)
					next=list
					prev=list
  struct sk_buff *skb = skb_peek(list);	WRITE_ONCE(newsk->next, next);
  WRITE_ONCE(list->qlen, list->qlen - 1);WRITE_ONCE(newsk->prev, prev);
  next       = skb->next;		WRITE_ONCE(next->prev, newsk);
  prev       = skb->prev;		WRITE_ONCE(prev->next, newsk);
  skb->next  = skb->prev = NULL;	list->qlen++;
  WRITE_ONCE(next->prev, prev);
  WRITE_ONCE(prev->next, next);

If the instruction ‘next = skb->next’ is executed before
‘WRITE_ONCE(prev->next, newsk)’, newsk will be lost, as CPUx get the
old ‘next’ pointer, but the length is still added by one. The final
result is the length of the queue will reach the maximum value but
the queue is empty.

So remove ar->data_lock, and use 'skb_queue_tail' instead of
'__skb_queue_tail' to prevent the potential race condition. Also switch
to use skb_queue_len_lockless, in case we queue a few SKBs simultaneously.

Tony Lindgren a4697704b8 wlcore: Fix command execute failure 19 for wl12xx
[ Upstream commit cb88d01b67383a095e3f7caeb4cdade5a6cf0417 ]

We can currently get a "command execute failure 19" error on beacon loss
if the signal is weak:

wlcore: Beacon loss detected. roles:0xff
wlcore: Connection loss work (role_id: 0).
...
wlcore: ERROR command execute failure 19

(wl12xx_cmd_role_start_sta [wlcore])
(wl1271_op_bss_info_changed [wlcore])
(ieee80211_prep_connection [mac80211])

Error 19 is defined as CMD_STATUS_WRONG_NESTING from the wlcore firmware,
and seems to mean that the firmware no longer wants to see the quirk
handling for WLCORE_QUIRK_START_STA_FAILS done.

This quirk got added with commit 18eab430700d ("wlcore: workaround
start_sta problem in wl12xx fw"), and it seems that this already got fixed
in the firmware long time ago back in 2012 as wl18xx never had this quirk
in place to start with.

As we no longer even support firmware that early, to me it seems that it's
safe to just drop WLCORE_QUIRK_START_STA_FAILS to fix the error. Looks
like earlier firmware got disabled back in 2013 with commit 0e284c074ef9
("wl12xx: increase minimum singlerole firmware version required").

If it turns out we still need WLCORE_QUIRK_START_STA_FAILS with any
firmware that the driver works with, we can simply revert this patch and
add extra checks for firmware version used.

With this fix wlcore reconnects properly after a beacon loss.

Marek Vasut d1deedf386 rsi: Move card interrupt handling to RX thread
[ Upstream commit 287431463e786766e05e4dc26d0a11d5f8ac8815 ]

The interrupt handling of the RS911x is particularly heavy. For each RX
packet, the card does three SDIO transactions, one to read interrupt
status register, one to RX buffer length, one to read the RX packet(s).
This translates to ~330 uS per one cycle of interrupt handler. In case
there is more incoming traffic, this will be more.

The drivers/mmc/core/sdio_irq.c has the following comment, quote "Just
like traditional hard IRQ handlers, we expect SDIO IRQ handlers to be
quick and to the point, so that the holding of the host lock does not
cover too much work that doesn't require that lock to be held."

The RS911x interrupt handler does not fit that. This patch therefore
changes it such that the entire IRQ handler is moved to the RX thread
instead, and the interrupt handler only wakes the RX thread.

This is OK, because the interrupt handler only does things which can
also be done in the RX thread, that is, it checks for firmware loading
error(s), it checks buffer status, it checks whether a packet arrived
and if so, reads out the packet and passes it to network stack.

Moreover, this change permits removal of a code which allocated an
skbuff only to get 4-byte-aligned buffer, read up to 8kiB of data
into the skbuff, queue this skbuff into local private queue, then in
RX thread, this buffer is dequeued, the data in the skbuff as passed
to the RSI driver core, and the skbuff is deallocated. All this is
replaced by directly calling the RSI driver core with local buffer.

Marek Vasut 388dce9faf rsi: Fix TX EAPOL packet handling against iwlwifi AP
[ Upstream commit 65277100caa2f2c62b6f3c4648b90d6f0435f3bc ]

In case RSI9116 SDIO WiFi operates in STA mode against Intel 9260 in AP mode,
the association fails. The former is using wpa_supplicant during association,
the later is set up using hostapd:

iwl$ cat hostapd.conf
interface=wlp1s0
ssid=test
country_code=DE
hw_mode=g
channel=1
wpa=2
wpa_passphrase=test
wpa_key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
iwl$ hostapd -d hostapd.conf

rsi$ wpa_supplicant -i wlan0 -c <(wpa_passphrase test test)

The problem is that the TX EAPOL data descriptor RSI_DESC_REQUIRE_CFM_TO_HOST
flag and extended descriptor EAPOL4_CONFIRM frame type are not set in case the
AP is iwlwifi, because in that case the TX EAPOL packet is 2 bytes shorter.

The downstream vendor driver has this change in place already [1], however
there is no explanation for it, neither is there any commit history from which
such explanation could be obtained.

Cong Wang 7f1af5b7d8 net: fix dev_ifsioc_locked() race condition
commit 3b23a32a63219f51a5298bc55a65ecee866e79d0 upstream.

dev_ifsioc_locked() is called with only RCU read lock, so when
there is a parallel writer changing the mac address, it could
get a partially updated mac address, as shown below:

Thread 1			Thread 2
// eth_commit_mac_addr_change()
memcpy(dev->dev_addr, addr->sa_data, ETH_ALEN);
				// dev_ifsioc_locked()
				memcpy(ifr->ifr_hwaddr.sa_data,
					dev->dev_addr,...);

Close this race condition by guarding them with a RW semaphore,
like netdev_get_name(). We can not use seqlock here as it does not
allow blocking. The writers already take RTNL anyway, so this does
not affect the slow path. To avoid bothering existing
dev_set_mac_address() callers in drivers, introduce a new wrapper
just for user-facing callers on ioctl and rtnetlink paths.

Note, bonding also changes slave mac addresses but that requires
a separate patch due to the complexity of bonding code.

Jason A. Donenfeld 5d6356c9a2 net: icmp: pass zeroed opts from icmp{,v6}_ndo_send before sending
commit ee576c47db60432c37e54b1e2b43a8ca6d3a8dca upstream.

The icmp{,v6}_send functions make all sorts of use of skb->cb, casting
it with IPCB or IP6CB, assuming the skb to have come directly from the
inet layer. But when the packet comes from the ndo layer, especially
when forwarded, there's no telling what might be in skb->cb at that
point. As a result, the icmp sending code risks reading bogus memory
contents, which can result in nasty stack overflows such as this one
reported by a user:

    panic+0x108/0x2ea
    __stack_chk_fail+0x14/0x20
    __icmp_send+0x5bd/0x5c0
    icmp_ndo_send+0x148/0x160

In icmp_send, skb->cb is cast with IPCB and an ip_options struct is read
from it. The optlen parameter there is of particular note, as it can
induce writes beyond bounds. There are quite a few ways that can happen
in __ip_options_echo. For example:

    // sptr/skb are attacker-controlled skb bytes
    sptr = skb_network_header(skb);
    // dptr/dopt points to stack memory allocated by __icmp_send
    dptr = dopt->__data;
    // sopt is the corrupt skb->cb in question
    if (sopt->rr) {
        optlen  = sptr[sopt->rr+1]; // corrupt skb->cb + skb->data
        soffset = sptr[sopt->rr+2]; // corrupt skb->cb + skb->data
	// this now writes potentially attacker-controlled data, over
	// flowing the stack:
        memcpy(dptr, sptr+sopt->rr, optlen);
    }

In the icmpv6_send case, the story is similar, but not as dire, as only
IP6CB(skb)->iif and IP6CB(skb)->dsthao are used. The dsthao case is
worse than the iif case, but it is passed to ipv6_find_tlv, which does
a bit of bounds checking on the value.

This is easy to simulate by doing a `memset(skb->cb, 0x41,
sizeof(skb->cb));` before calling icmp{,v6}_ndo_send, and it's only by
good fortune and the rarity of icmp sending from that context that we've
avoided reports like this until now. For example, in KASAN:

    BUG: KASAN: stack-out-of-bounds in __ip_options_echo+0xa0e/0x12b0
    Write of size 38 at addr ffff888006f1f80e by task ping/89
    CPU: 2 PID: 89 Comm: ping Not tainted 5.10.0-rc7-debug+ #5
    Call Trace:

     print_address_description.constprop.0+0x1a/0x160
     __kasan_report.cold+0x20/0x38
     kasan_report+0x32/0x40
     check_memory_region+0x145/0x1a0
     memcpy+0x39/0x60
     __ip_options_echo+0xa0e/0x12b0
     __icmp_send+0x744/0x1700

Actually, out of the 4 drivers that do this, only gtp zeroed the cb for
the v4 case, while the rest did not. So this commit actually removes the
gtp-specific zeroing, while putting the code where it belongs in the
shared infrastructure of icmp{,v6}_ndo_send.

This commit fixes the issue by passing an empty IPCB or IP6CB along to
the functions that actually do the work. For the icmp_send, this was
already trivial, thanks to __icmp_send providing the plumbing function.
For icmpv6_send, this required a tiny bit of refactoring to make it
behave like the v4 case, after which it was straight forward.

Taehee Yoo 92e11f0a4e vxlan: move debug check after netdev unregister
[ Upstream commit 92584ddf550ae72d492858c19d1f9025e07a9350 ]

The debug check must be done after unregister_netdevice_many() call --
the hlist_del_rcu() for this is done inside .ndo_stop.

This is the same with commit 0fda7600c2e1 ("geneve: move debug check after
netdev unregister")

Test commands:
    ip netns del A
    ip netns add A
    ip netns add B

    ip netns exec B ip link add vxlan0 type vxlan vni 100 local 10.0.0.1 \

    ip netns exec B ip link set vxlan0 netns A
    ip netns exec A ip link set vxlan0 up
    ip netns del B

[ Upstream commit 84fe68eb67f9499309cffd97c1ba269de125ff14 ]

Normally, auto negotiation and reconnect should be automatically done by
the hardware. But there seems to be an issue where auto negotiation has
to be restarted manually. This happens because of link training and so
even though still connected to the partner the link never "comes back".
This needs an auto-negotiation restart.

Also, a change in xgbe-mdio is needed to get ethtool to recognize the
link down and get the link change message. This change is only
required in a backplane connection mode.

[ Upstream commit 57baf8cc70ea4cf5503c9d42f31f6a86d7f5ff1a ]

This driver is set up to use a clock mapping in the device tree if it is
present, but still work without one for backward compatibility. However,
if getting the clock returns -EPROBE_DEFER, then we need to abort and
return that error from our driver initialization so that the probe can
be retried later after the clock is set up.

Move clock initialization to earlier in the process so we do not waste as
much effort if the clock is not yet available. Switch to use
devm_clk_get_optional and abort initialization on any error reported.
Also enable the clock regardless of whether the controller is using an MDIO

The "REG_READ(ah, AR_PHY_AGC_CONTROL)" in ath9k_hw_loadnf() does not
like being called when the hardware is asleep, leading to this crash.

The easiest way to reproduce this is trying to set nf_override while
the hardware is down:

  $ ip link set down dev wlan0
  $ echo "-85" > /sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy0/ath9k/nf_override

Fixing this crash by waking the hardware up before trying to set the
noise floor. Similar to what other ath9k debugfs files do.

Tested on a Lima board from 8devices, which has a QCA 4531 chipset.

Don't make problems worse, the more that handling elsewhere (together

odd way of dealing with errors.

[ Upstream commit 07bf34a50e327975b21a9dee64d220c3dcb72ee9 ]

Michael tried to enable Advanced Error Reporting through the ENETC's
Root Complex Event Collector, and the system started spitting out single
bit correctable ECC errors coming from the ENETC interfaces:

pcieport 0000:00:1f.0: AER: Multiple Corrected error received: 0000:00:00.0
fsl_enetc 0000:00:00.0: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Transaction Layer, (Receiver ID)
fsl_enetc 0000:00:00.0:   device [1957:e100] error status/mask=00004000/00000000
fsl_enetc 0000:00:00.0:    [14] CorrIntErr
fsl_enetc 0000:00:00.1: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Transaction Layer, (Receiver ID)
fsl_enetc 0000:00:00.1:   device [1957:e100] error status/mask=00004000/00000000
fsl_enetc 0000:00:00.1:    [14] CorrIntErr

Further investigating the port correctable memory error detect register
(PCMEDR) shows that these AER errors have an associated SOURCE_ID of 6
(RFS/RSS):

$ devmem 0x1f8010e10 32
0xC0000006
$ devmem 0x1f8050e10 32
0xC0000006

Discussion with the hardware design engineers reveals that on LS1028A,
the hardware does not do initialization of that RFS/RSS memory, and that
software should clear/initialize the entire table before starting to
operate. That comes as a bit of a surprise, since the driver does not do
initialization of the RFS memory. Also, the initialization of the
Receive Side Scaling is done only partially.

Even though the entire ENETC IP has a single shared flow steering
memory, the flow steering service should returns matches only for TCAM
entries that are within the range of the Station Interface that is doing
the search. Therefore, it should be sufficient for a Station Interface
to initialize all of its own entries in order to avoid any ECC errors,
and only the Station Interfaces in use should need initialization.

There are Physical Station Interfaces associated with PCIe PFs and
Virtual Station Interfaces associated with PCIe VFs. We let the PF
driver initialize the entire port's memory, which includes the RFS
entries which are going to be used by the VF.

DENG Qingfang 1859870c39 net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: override existent unicast portvec in port_fdb_add
commit f72f2fb8fb6be095b98af5d740ac50cffd0b0cae upstream.

Having multiple destination ports for a unicast address does not make
sense.
Make port_db_load_purge override existent unicast portvec instead of
adding a new port bit.

The more generic approach will be wrap get_link_ksettings() with begin()
and complete() callbacks, and calls runtime resume and runtime suspend
routine respectively. However, igc is like igb, runtime resume routine
uses rtnl_lock() which upper ethtool layer also uses.

So to prevent a deadlock on rtnl, take a different approach, use
pm_runtime_suspended() to avoid reading register while device is runtime
suspended.

Luca Coelho 74cbb120f6 iwlwifi: mvm: don't send RFH_QUEUE_CONFIG_CMD with no queues
commit 64f55156f7adedb1ac5bb9cdbcbc9ac05ff5a724 upstream.

If we have only a single RX queue, such as when MSI-X is not
available, we should not send the RFH_QUEUEU_CONFIG_CMD, because our
only queue is the same as the command queue and will be configured as
part of the context info. Our code was actually trying to send the
command with 0 queues, which caused UMAC assert 0x1D04.

Fix that by not sending the command when we have a single queue.

Heiner Kallweit 36f1cf512a r8169: fix WoL on shutdown if CONFIG_DEBUG_SHIRQ is set
[ Upstream commit cc9f07a838c4988ed244d0907cb71d54b85482a5 ]

So far phy_disconnect() is called before free_irq(). If CONFIG_DEBUG_SHIRQ
is set and interrupt is shared, then free_irq() creates an "artificial"
interrupt by calling the interrupt handler. The "link change" flag is set
in the interrupt status register, causing phylib to eventually call
phy_suspend(). Because the net_device is detached from the PHY already,
the PHY driver can't recognize that WoL is configured and powers down the
PHY.
