Fix kprobe_on_func_entry() returns error code instead of false so that
register_kretprobe() can return an appropriate error code.
append_trace_kprobe() expects the kprobe registration returns -ENOENT
when the target symbol is not found, and it checks whether the target
module is unloaded or not. If the target module doesn't exist, it
defers to probe the target symbol until the module is loaded.
However, since register_kretprobe() returns -EINVAL instead of -ENOENT
in that case, it always fail on putting the kretprobe event on unloaded
modules. e.g.

To fix this bug, change kprobe_on_func_entry() to detect symbol lookup
failure and return -ENOENT in that case. Otherwise it returns -EINVAL
or 0 (succeeded, given address is on the entry).

If a new hugetlb page is allocated during fallocate it will not be
marked as active (set_page_huge_active) which will result in a later
isolate_huge_page failure when the page migration code would like to
move that page. Such a failure would be unexpected and wrong.
Only export set_page_huge_active, just leave clear_page_huge_active as
static. Because there are no external users.

When MSI_FLAG_ACTIVATE_EARLY is set (which is the case for PCI),
__msi_domain_alloc_irqs() performs the activation of the interrupt (which
in the case of PCI results in the endpoint being programmed) as soon as the
interrupt is allocated.
But it appears that this is only done for the first vector, introducing an
inconsistent behaviour for PCI Multi-MSI.
Fix it by iterating over the number of vectors allocated to each MSI
descriptor. This is easily achieved by introducing a new
"for_each_msi_vector" iterator, together with a tiny bit of refactoring.

There is a need to distinguish geniune per-cpu kthreads from kthreads
that happen to have a single CPU affinity.
Geniune per-cpu kthreads are kthreads that are CPU affine for
correctness, these will obviously have PF_KTHREAD set, but must also
have PF_NO_SETAFFINITY set, lest userspace modify their affinity and
ruins things.
However, these two things are not sufficient, PF_NO_SETAFFINITY is
also set on other tasks that have their affinities controlled through
other means, like for instance workqueues.
Therefore another bit is needed; it turns out kthread_create_per_cpu()
already has such a bit: KTHREAD_IS_PER_CPU, which is used to make
kthread_park()/kthread_unpark() work correctly.
Expose this flag and remove the implicit setting of it from
kthread_create_on_cpu(); the io_uring usage of it seems dubious at
best.

The TCP_USER_TIMEOUT is checked by the 0-window probe timer. As the
timer has backoff with a max interval of about two minutes, the
actual timeout for TCP_USER_TIMEOUT can be off by up to two minutes.
In this patch the TCP_USER_TIMEOUT is made more accurate by taking it
into account when computing the timer value for the 0-window probes.
This patch is similar to and builds on top of the one that made
TCP_USER_TIMEOUT accurate for RTOs in commit b701a99e431d ("tcp: Add
tcp_clamp_rto_to_user_timeout() helper to improve accuracy").

Upon receiving a cumulative ACK that changes the congestion state from
Disorder to Open, the TLP timer is not set. If the sender is app-limited,
it can only wait for the RTO timer to expire and retransmit.
The reason for this is that the TLP timer is set before the congestion
state changes in tcp_ack(), so we delay the time point of calling
tcp_set_xmit_timer() until after tcp_fastretrans_alert() returns and
remove the FLAG_SET_XMIT_TIMER from ack_flag when the RACK reorder timer
is set.
This commit has two additional benefits:
1) Make sure to reset RTO according to RFC6298 when receiving ACK, to
avoid spurious RTO caused by RTO timer early expires.
2) Reduce the xmit timer reschedule once per ACK when the RACK reorder
timer is set.

Since commit c40aaaac1018 ("iommu/vt-d: Gracefully handle DMAR units
with no supported address widths") dmar.c needs struct iommu_device to
be selected. We can drop this dependency by not dereferencing struct
iommu_device if IOMMU_API is not selected and by reusing the information
stored in iommu->drhd->ignored instead.
This fixes the following build error when IOMMU_API is not selected:

The only use of I_DIRTY_TIME_EXPIRE is to detect in
__writeback_single_inode() that inode got there because flush worker
decided it's time to writeback the dirty inode time stamps (either
because we are syncing or because of age). However we can detect this
directly in __writeback_single_inode() and there's no need for the
strange propagation with I_DIRTY_TIME_EXPIRE flag.

The TCP session does not terminate with TCP_USER_TIMEOUT when data
remain untransmitted due to zero window.
The number of unanswered zero-window probes (tcp_probes_out) is
reset to zero with incoming acks irrespective of the window size,
as described in tcp_probe_timer():
RFC 1122 4.2.2.17 requires the sender to stay open indefinitely
as long as the receiver continues to respond probes. We support
this by default and reset icsk_probes_out with incoming ACKs.
This counter, however, is the wrong one to be used in calculating the
duration that the window remains closed and data remain untransmitted.
Thanks to Jonathan Maxwell <jmaxwell37@gmail.com> for diagnosing the
actual issue.
In this patch a new timestamp is introduced for the socket in order to
track the elapsed time for the zero-window probes that have not been
answered with any non-zero window ack.

For a while, event channel notification via the PCI platform device
has been broken, because we attempt to communicate with xenstore before
we even have notifications working, with the xs_reset_watches() call
in xs_init().
We tend to get away with this on Xen versions below 4.0 because we avoid
calling xs_reset_watches() anyway, because xenstore might not cope with
reading a non-existent key. And newer Xen *does* have the vector
callback support, so we rarely fall back to INTX/GSI delivery.
To fix it, clean up a bit of the mess of xs_init() and xenbus_probe()
startup. Call xs_init() directly from xenbus_init() only in the !XS_HVM
case, deferring it to be called from xenbus_probe() in the XS_HVM case
instead.
Then fix up the invocation of xenbus_probe() to happen either from its
device_initcall if the callback is available early enough, or when the
callback is finally set up. This means that the hack of calling
xenbus_probe() from a workqueue after the first interrupt, or directly
from the PCI platform device setup, is no longer needed.

With UBSAN enabled and building with clang, there are occasionally
warnings like
WARNING: modpost: vmlinux.o(.text+0xc533ec): Section mismatch in reference from the function arch_atomic64_or() to the variable .init.data:numa_nodes_parsed
The function arch_atomic64_or() references
the variable __initdata numa_nodes_parsed.
This is often because arch_atomic64_or lacks a __initdata
annotation or the annotation of numa_nodes_parsed is wrong.
for functions that end up not being inlined as intended but operating
on __initdata variables. Mark these as __always_inline, along with
the corresponding asm-generic wrappers.

As part of the continual effort to remove direct usage of skb->next and
skb->prev, this patch adds a helper for iterating through the
singly-linked variant of skb lists, which are used for lists of GSO
packet. The name "skb_list_..." has been chosen to match the existing
function, "kfree_skb_list, which also operates on these singly-linked
lists, and the "..._walk_safe" part is the same idiom as elsewhere in
the kernel.
This patch removes the helper from wireguard and puts it into
linux/skbuff.h, while making it a bit more robust for general usage. In
particular, parenthesis are added around the macro argument usage, and it
now accounts for trying to iterate through an already-null skb pointer,
which will simply run the iteration zero times. This latter enhancement
means it can be used to replace both do { ... } while and while (...)
open-coded idioms.
This should take care of these three possible usages, which match all
current methods of iterations.

Gcc appears to generate efficient code for each of these.

kernel/elfcore.c only contains weak symbols, which triggers a bug with
clang in combination with recordmcount:
Cannot find symbol for section 2: .text.
kernel/elfcore.o: failed
Move the empty stubs into linux/elfcore.h as inline functions. As only
two architectures use these, just use the architecture specific Kconfig
symbols to key off the declaration.

GCC versions >= 4.9 and < 5.1 have been shown to emit memory references
beyond the stack pointer, resulting in memory corruption if an interrupt
is taken after the stack pointer has been adjusted but before the
reference has been executed. This leads to subtle, infrequent data
corruption such as the EXT4 problems reported by Russell King at the
link below.
Life is too short for buggy compilers, so raise the minimum GCC version
required by arm64 to 5.1.

With external metadata device, flush requests are not passed down to the
data device.
Fix this by submitting the flush request in dm_integrity_flush_buffers. In
order to not degrade performance, we overlap the data device flush with
the metadata device flush.

Basically, consider .text.{hot|unlikely|unknown}.* part of .text, too.
When compiling with profiling information (collected via PGO
instrumentations or AutoFDO sampling), Clang will separate code into
.text.hot, .text.unlikely, or .text.unknown sections based on profiling
information. After D79600 (clang-11), these sections will have a
trailing `.` suffix, ie. .text.hot., .text.unlikely., .text.unknown..
When using -ffunction-sections together with profiling infomation,
either explicitly (FGKASLR) or implicitly (LTO), code may be placed in
sections following the convention:
.text.hot.<foo>, .text.unlikely.<bar>, .text.unknown.<baz>
where <foo>, <bar>, and <baz> are functions. (This produces one section
per function; we generally try to merge these all back via linker script
so that we don't have 50k sections).
For the above cases, we need to teach our linker scripts that such
sections might exist and that we'd explicitly like them grouped
together, otherwise we can wind up with code outside of the
_stext/_etext boundaries that might not be mapped properly for some
architectures, resulting in boot failures.
If the linker script is not told about possible input sections, then
where the section is placed as output is a heuristic-laiden mess that's
non-portable between linkers (ie. BFD and LLD), and has resulted in many
hard to debug bugs. Kees Cook is working on cleaning this up by adding
--orphan-handling=warn linker flag used in ARCH=powerpc to additional
architectures. In the case of linker scripts, borrowing from the Zen of
Python: explicit is better than implicit.
Also, ld.bfd's internal linker script considers .text.hot AND
.text.hot.* to be part of .text, as well as .text.unlikely and
.text.unlikely.*. I didn't see support for .text.unknown.*, and didn't
see Clang producing such code in our kernel builds, but I see code in
LLVM that can produce such section names if profiling information is
missing. That may point to a larger issue with generating or collecting
profiles, but I would much rather be safe and explicit than have to
debug yet another issue related to orphan section placement.

The following functional changes were needed for backport:
- vfio_iommu_type1_get_info doesn't exist, call
vfio_iommu_dma_avail_build_caps from vfio_iommu_type1_ioctl.
- As further fallout from this, vfio_iommu_dma_avail_build_caps must
acquire and release the iommu mutex lock. To do so, the return value is
stored in a local variable as in vfio_iommu_iova_build_caps.

Commit 492855939bdb ("vfio/type1: Limit DMA mappings per container")
added the ability to limit the number of memory backed DMA mappings.
However on s390x, when lazy mapping is in use, we use a very large
number of concurrent mappings. Let's provide the current allowable
number of DMA mappings to userspace via the IOMMU info chain so that
userspace can take appropriate mitigation.

Check Scell_log shift size in red_check_params() and modify all callers

Commit 1fde6f21d90f ("proc: fix /proc/net/* after setns(2)") only forced
revalidation of regular files under /proc/net/
However, /proc/net/ is unusual in the sense of /proc/net/foo handlers
take netns pointer from parent directory which is old netns.
Steps to reproduce:

Recently syzbot reported[0] that there is a deadlock amongst the users
of exec_update_mutex. The problematic lock ordering found by lockdep
was:
perf_event_open (exec_update_mutex -> ovl_i_mutex)
chown (ovl_i_mutex -> sb_writes)
sendfile (sb_writes -> p->lock)
by reading from a proc file and writing to overlayfs
proc_pid_syscall (p->lock -> exec_update_mutex)
While looking at possible solutions it occured to me that all of the
users and possible users involved only wanted to state of the given
process to remain the same. They are all readers. The only writer is
exec.
There is no reason for readers to block on each other. So fix
this deadlock by transforming exec_update_mutex into a rw_semaphore
named exec_update_lock that only exec takes for writing.

memory_failure() offlines or repairs pages of memory that have been
discovered to be corrupt. These may be detected by an external
component, (e.g. the memory controller), and notified via an IRQ.
In this case the work is queued as not all of memory_failure()s work
can happen in IRQ context.
If the error was detected as a result of user-space accessing a
corrupt memory location the CPU may take an abort instead. On arm64
this is a 'synchronous external abort', and on a firmware first
system it is replayed using NOTIFY_SEA.
This notification has NMI like properties, (it can interrupt
IRQ-masked code), so the memory_failure() work is queued. If we
return to user-space before the queued memory_failure() work is
processed, we will take the fault again. This loop may cause platform
firmware to exceed some threshold and reboot when Linux could have
recovered from this error.
For NMIlike notifications keep track of whether memory_failure() work
was queued, and make task_work pending to flush out the queue.
To save memory allocations, the task_work is allocated as part of
the ghes_estatus_node, and free()ing it back to the pool is deferred.
This patch is needed because Quicksilver firmware-first error handling
uses the SDEI notification type for communication between trusted
firmware and the OS. This adds needed NMI and SDEI functionality so
that the SDEI path in the kernel through APEI acts as an NMI and is
properly wired up to the APEI interfaces.

The GHES code calls memory_failure_queue() from IRQ context to schedule
work on the current CPU so that memory_failure() can sleep.
For synchronous memory errors the arch code needs to know any signals
that memory_failure() will trigger are pending before it returns to
user-space, possibly when exiting from the IRQ.
Add a helper to kick the memory failure queue, to ensure the scheduled
work has happened. This has to be called from process context, so may
have been migrated from the original cpu. Pass the cpu the work was
queued on.
Change memory_failure_work_func() to permit being called on the 'wrong'
cpu.
This patch is needed because Quicksilver firmware-first error handling

in eks network, some ports is reserved for default ns snat/dnat.
we'd like a way to forbid binding these ports in non-default ns.
this api is for testing whether a packet belongs to default netns.
test case: test bind relevant ports from both netns
Switch BPF UAPI constants, previously defined as #define macro, to anonymous
enum values. This preserves constants values and behavior in expressions, but
has added advantaged of being captured as part of DWARF and, subsequently, BTF
type info. Which, in turn, greatly improves usefulness of generated vmlinux.h
for BPF applications, as it will not require BPF users to copy/paste various
flags and constants, which are frequently used with BPF helpers. Only those
constants that are used/useful from BPF program side are converted.

Add ability to memory-map contents of BPF array map. This is extremely useful
for working with BPF global data from userspace programs. It allows to avoid
typical bpf_map_{lookup,update}_elem operations, improving both performance
and usability.
There had to be special considerations for map freezing, to avoid having
writable memory view into a frozen map. To solve this issue, map freezing and
mmap-ing is happening under mutex now:
- if map is already frozen, no writable mapping is allowed;
- if map has writable memory mappings active (accounted in map->writecnt),
map freezing will keep failing with -EBUSY;
- once number of writable memory mappings drops to zero, map freezing can be
performed again.
Only non-per-CPU plain arrays are supported right now. Maps with spinlocks
can't be memory mapped either.
For BPF_F_MMAPABLE array, memory allocation has to be done through vmalloc()
to be mmap()'able. We also need to make sure that array data memory is
page-sized and page-aligned, so we over-allocate memory in such a way that
struct bpf_array is at the end of a single page of memory with array->value
being aligned with the start of the second page. On deallocation we need to
accomodate this memory arrangement to free vmalloc()'ed memory correctly.
One important consideration regarding how memory-mapping subsystem functions.
Memory-mapping subsystem provides few optional callbacks, among them open()
and close(). close() is called for each memory region that is unmapped, so
that users can decrease their reference counters and free up resources, if
necessary. open() is *almost* symmetrical: it's called for each memory region
that is being mapped, **except** the very first one. So bpf_map_mmap does
initial refcnt bump, while open() will do any extra ones after that. Thus
number of close() calls is equal to number of open() calls plus one more.

Similarly to bpf_map's refcnt/usercnt, convert bpf_prog's refcnt to atomic64
and remove artificial 32k limit. This allows to make bpf_prog's refcounting
non-failing, simplifying logic of users of bpf_prog_add/bpf_prog_inc.

92117d8443bc ("bpf: fix refcnt overflow") turned refcounting of bpf_map into
potentially failing operation, when refcount reaches BPF_MAX_REFCNT limit
(32k). Due to using 32-bit counter, it's possible in practice to overflow
refcounter and make it wrap around to 0, causing erroneous map free, while
there are still references to it, causing use-after-free problems.
But having a failing refcounting operations are problematic in some cases. One
example is mmap() interface. After establishing initial memory-mapping, user
is allowed to arbitrarily map/remap/unmap parts of mapped memory, arbitrarily
splitting it into multiple non-contiguous regions. All this happening without
any control from the users of mmap subsystem. Rather mmap subsystem sends
notifications to original creator of memory mapping through open/close
callbacks, which are optionally specified during initial memory mapping
creation. These callbacks are used to maintain accurate refcount for bpf_map
(see next patch in this series). The problem is that open() callback is not
supposed to fail, because memory-mapped resource is set up and properly
referenced. This is posing a problem for using memory-mapping with BPF maps.
One solution to this is to maintain separate refcount for just memory-mappings
and do single bpf_map_inc/bpf_map_put when it goes from/to zero, respectively.
There are similar use cases in current work on tcp-bpf, necessitating extra
counter as well. This seems like a rather unfortunate and ugly solution that
doesn't scale well to various new use cases.
Another approach to solve this is to use non-failing refcount_t type, which
uses 32-bit counter internally, but, once reaching overflow state at UINT_MAX,
stays there. This utlimately causes memory leak, but prevents use after free.
But given refcounting is not the most performance-critical operation with BPF
maps (it's not used from running BPF program code), we can also just switch to
64-bit counter that can't overflow in practice, potentially disadvantaging
32-bit platforms a tiny bit. This simplifies semantics and allows above
described scenarios to not worry about failing refcount increment operation.
In terms of struct bpf_map size, we are still good and use the same amount of

This patch, while modifying all users of bpf_map_inc, also cleans up its
interface to match bpf_map_put with separate operations for bpf_map_inc and
bpf_map_inc_with_uref (to match bpf_map_put and bpf_map_put_with_uref,
respectively). Also, given there are no users of bpf_map_inc_not_zero
specifying uref=true, remove uref flag and default to uref=false internally.

When pahole converts dwarf to btf it emits only used types.
Wrap existing __bpf_trace_##template() function into
btf_trace_##template typedef and use it in type cast to
make gcc emits this type into dwarf. Then pahole will convert it to btf.
The "btf_trace_" prefix will be used to identify BTF enabled raw tracepoints.

Specify type alignment when declaring linker-section match-table entries
to prevent gcc from increasing alignment and corrupting the various
tables with padding (e.g. timers, irqchips, clocks, reserved memory).
This is specifically needed on x86 where gcc (typically) aligns larger
objects like struct of_device_id with static extent on 32-byte
boundaries which at best prevents matching on anything but the first
entry. Specifying alignment when declaring variables suppresses this
optimisation.
Here's a 64-bit example where all entries are corrupt as 16 bytes of
padding has been inserted before the first entry:

There isn't really any valid reason to use __FSCRYPT_MODE_MAX or
FSCRYPT_POLICY_FLAGS_VALID in a userspace program. These constants are
only meant to be used by the kernel internally, and they are defined in
the UAPI header next to the mode numbers and flags only so that kernel
developers don't forget to update them when adding new modes or flags.

there was an example of someone wanting to use __FSCRYPT_MODE_MAX in a
user program, and it was wrong because the program would have broken if
__FSCRYPT_MODE_MAX were ever increased. So having this definition
available is harmful. FSCRYPT_POLICY_FLAGS_VALID has the same problem.
So, remove these definitions from the UAPI header. Replace
FSCRYPT_POLICY_FLAGS_VALID with just listing the valid flags explicitly
in the one kernel function that needs it. Move __FSCRYPT_MODE_MAX to
fscrypt_private.h, remove the double underscores (which were only
present to discourage use by userspace), and add a BUILD_BUG_ON() and
comments to (hopefully) ensure it is kept in sync.
Keep the old name FS_POLICY_FLAGS_VALID, since it's been around for
longer and there's a greater chance that removing it would break source
compatibility with some program. Indeed, mtd-utils is using it in
an #ifdef, and removing it would introduce compiler warnings (about
FS_POLICY_FLAGS_PAD_* being redefined) into the mtd-utils build.
However, reduce its value to 0x07 so that it only includes the flags
with old names (the ones present before Linux 5.4), and try to make it
clear that it's now "frozen" and no new flags should be added to it.

It's possible to create a duplicate filename in an encrypted directory
by creating a file concurrently with adding the encryption key.
Specifically, sys_open(O_CREAT) (or sys_mkdir(), sys_mknod(), or
sys_symlink()) can lookup the target filename while the directory's
encryption key hasn't been added yet, resulting in a negative no-key
dentry. The VFS then calls ->create() (or ->mkdir(), ->mknod(), or
->symlink()) because the dentry is negative. Normally, ->create() would
return -ENOKEY due to the directory's key being unavailable. However,
if the key was added between the dentry lookup and ->create(), then the
filesystem will go ahead and try to create the file.
If the target filename happens to already exist as a normal name (not a
no-key name), a duplicate filename may be added to the directory.
In order to fix this, we need to fix the filesystems to prevent
->create(), ->mkdir(), ->mknod(), and ->symlink() on no-key names.
(->rename() and ->link() need it too, but those are already handled
correctly by fscrypt_prepare_rename() and fscrypt_prepare_link().)
In preparation for this, add a helper function fscrypt_is_nokey_name()
that filesystems can use to do this check. Use this helper function for
the existing checks that fs/crypto/ does for rename and link.

This commit adds a counter of pending messages for each watch in the
struct. It is used to skip unnecessary pending messages lookup in
'unregister_xenbus_watch()'. It could also be used in 'will_handle'
callback.

'register_xenbus_watch()' but use 'xenbus_watch_path()' instead. This
commit adds support of 'will_handle' callback in the
'xenbus_watch_path()' and it's wrapper, 'xenbus_watch_pathfmt()'.
