Bin Lai 13f2b1a994 sli: add the CONFIG_CGROUP_SLI configuration for SLI
SLI is used for cgroup performance monitoring, but it is not
necessary for some cases(such as running the linux without
cgroups on the embedded device). Therefor we add this
configuration to decide whether package SLI into kernel or not.

mengensun 7058a2896d mem: memcontrol: add cond_resched in memcg_numa_stat_show
sameone may mkdir memcg, move some process which will write same
data to disk, then rmdir memcg.

while if do the same thing like up over and over. memcg is bind by
page cache which is recycled slowly, make the memcg tree bigger
and bigger.

then read the numa_stat is so slowly, and costing cpu without
sched point.  while, process like ksoftirqd whill see a loong
sched latency.

so, add a cond_resched to memcg_numa_stat_show

caelli d9280166f1 cgroupfs: support stat based on cpuacct
currently, /proc/stat displays cpu usage for real cpu,
add support to display cpu usage based on cpuacct,
online file on cgroupfs is changed to display cpu count
minimum of cpuset and cpuacct. sysctl
cgroupfs_stat_show_cpuacct_info is used to start this feature.

Bin Lai f91939a5b3 sli/cpu: introduce sli max latency metrics
Sli max latency is lightweight latency monitor metrics, the monitor
tool could get the data with a little overhead. And the accuracy of
the metrics is controlled by the sampling frequency of the monitor
tool. When the performance jitter was occurred in the system, we can
get some help from these lateny metris.

Peng Hao 1b7478d8d0 mm/lru: replace pgdat lru_lock with lruvec lock
This patch moves per node lru_lock into lruvec, thus bring a lru_lock for
each of memcg per node. So on a large machine, each of memcg don't
have to suffer from per node pgdat->lru_lock competition. They could go
fast with their self lru_lock.

After move memcg charge before lru inserting, page isolation could
serialize page's memcg, then per memcg lruvec lock is stable and could
replace per node lru lock.

In func isolate_migratepages_block, compact_unlock_should_abort and
lock_page_lruvec_irqsave are open coded to work with compact_control.
Also add a debug func in locking which may give some clues if there are
sth out of hands.

Daniel Jordan's testing show 62% improvement on modified readtwice case
on his 2P * 10 core * 2 HT broadwell box.

On a large machine with memcg enabled but not used, the page's lruvec
seeking pass a few pointers, that may lead to lru_lock holding time
increase and a bit regression.

Peng Hao 821adde85c mm: memcontrol: charge swapin pages on instantiation
Right now, users that are otherwise memory controlled can easily escape
their containment and allocate significant amounts of memory that they're
not being charged for.  That's because swap readahead pages are not being
charged until somebody actually faults them into their page table.  This
can be exploited with MADV_WILLNEED, which triggers arbitrary readahead
allocations without charging the pages.

There are additional problems with the delayed charging of swap pages:

1. To implement refault/workingset detection for anonymous pages, we
   need to have a target LRU available at swapin time, but the LRU is not
   determinable until the page has been charged.

2. To implement per-cgroup LRU locking, we need page->mem_cgroup to be
   stable when the page is isolated from the LRU; otherwise, the locks
   change under us.  But swapcache gets charged after it's already on the
   LRU, and even if we cannot isolate it ourselves (since charging is not
   exactly optional).

The previous patch ensured we always maintain cgroup ownership records for
swap pages.  This patch moves the swapcache charging point from the fault
handler to swapin time to fix all of the above problems.

Peng Hao b18f5a48c9 Add VM_WARN_ON_ONCE_PAGE() macro.
Since readahead page is charged on memcg too, in theory we don't have to
check this exception now. Before safely remove them all, add a warning
for the unexpected !memcg.

Muchun Song 4538b7bf6a mm: memcg/slab: fix root memcg vmstats
commit 8faeb1ffd79593c9cd8a2a80ecdda371e3b826cb upstream.

If we reparent the slab objects to the root memcg, when we free the slab
object, we need to update the per-memcg vmstats to keep it correct for
the root memcg.  Now this at least affects the vmstat of
NR_KERNEL_STACK_KB for !CONFIG_VMAP_STACK when the thread stack size is
smaller than the PAGE_SIZE.

  always be inflated if we reparented"

Ralph Campbell dd2e2fa23a mm/memcg: fix device private memcg accounting

The code in mc_handle_swap_pte() checks for non_swap_entry() and returns
NULL before checking is_device_private_entry() so device private pages are
never handled.  Fix this by checking for non_swap_entry() after handling
device private swap PTEs.

I assume the memory cgroup accounting would be off somehow when moving
a process to another memory cgroup.  Currently, the device private page
is charged like a normal anonymous page when allocated and is uncharged
when the page is freed so I think that path is OK.

Johannes Weiner 4a3fd7293d mm: memcontrol: fix stat-corrupting race in charge moving

The move_lock is a per-memcg lock, but the VM accounting code that needs
to acquire it comes from the page and follows page->mem_cgroup under RCU
protection.  That means that the page becomes unlocked not when we drop
the move_lock, but when we update page->mem_cgroup.  And that assignment
doesn't imply any memory ordering.  If that pointer write gets reordered
against the reads of the page state - page_mapped, PageDirty etc.  the
state may change while we rely on it being stable and we can end up
corrupting the counters.

Place an SMP memory barrier to make sure we're done with all page state by
the time the new page->mem_cgroup becomes visible.

Also replace the open-coded move_lock with a lock_page_memcg() to make it
more obvious what we're serializing against.

Hugh Dickins c1e97d494f mm/memcg: fix refcount error while moving and swapping
commit 8d22a9351035ef2ff12ef163a1091b8b8cf1e49c upstream.

It was hard to keep a test running, moving tasks between memcgs with
move_charge_at_immigrate, while swapping: mem_cgroup_id_get_many()'s
refcount is discovered to be 0 (supposedly impossible), so it is then
forced to REFCOUNT_SATURATED, and after thousands of warnings in quick
succession, the test is at last put out of misery by being OOM killed.

This is because of the way moved_swap accounting was saved up until the
task move gets completed in __mem_cgroup_clear_mc(), deferred from when
mem_cgroup_move_swap_account() actually exchanged old and new ids.
Concurrent activity can free up swap quicker than the task is scanned,
bringing id refcount down 0 (which should only be possible when
offlining).

Just skip that optimization: do that part of the accounting immediately.

Yafang Shao b94c3f871e mm, memcg: fix error return value of mem_cgroup_css_alloc()

When I run my memcg testcase which creates lots of memcgs, I found
there're unexpected out of memory logs while there're still enough
available free memory.  The error log is

  mkdir: cannot create directory 'foo.65533': Cannot allocate memory

The reason is when we try to create more than MEM_CGROUP_ID_MAX memcgs,
an -ENOMEM errno will be set by mem_cgroup_css_alloc(), but the right
errno should be -ENOSPC "No space left on device", which is an
appropriate errno for userspace's failed mkdir.

As the errno really misled me, we should make it right.  After this
patch, the error log will be

  mkdir: cannot create directory 'foo.65533': No space left on device

Jakub Kicinski 0ff473e602 mm, memcg: do not high throttle allocators based on wraparound
commit 9b8b17541f13809d06f6f873325305ddbb760e3e upstream.

If a cgroup violates its memory.high constraints, we may end up unduly
penalising it.  For example, for the following hierarchy:

  A:   max high, 20 usage
  A/B: 9 high, 10 usage
  A/C: max high, 10 usage

We would end up doing the following calculation below when calculating
high delay for A/B:

  A/B: 10 - 9 = 1...
  A:   20 - PAGE_COUNTER_MAX = 21, so set max_overage to 21.

This gets worse with higher disparities in usage in the parent.

I have no idea how this disappeared from the final version of the patch,
but it is certainly Not Good(tm).  This wasn't obvious in testing because,
for a simple cgroup hierarchy with only one child, the result is usually
roughly the same.  It's only in more complex hierarchies that things go
really awry (although still, the effects are limited to a maximum of 2
seconds in schedule_timeout_killable at a maximum).
